Completed line edits on a manuscript of approximately 50,000 words. After complete line edits, Debi agreed to developmental and sectioning edits on the complete draft, ensuring better chapter lengths and sectional transitions.
Brigham Magnusson. “Drifting.” October - November 2022. Published in Peasant Magazine.
Completed line edits and developmental edits for this short story. “Drifting” would go on to win the staff entry for a short story contest hosted by Mesa Public Schools. Brigham then got it published in the inaugural issue of Peasant Magazine in October 2023.
Scott Jolley. “Summer Solstice Slam.” January - February 2022. Published in The Drake Magazine.
Completed line edits and developmental edits for this short story, published posthumously in The Drake Magazine. Scott Jolley lost his life during the COVID-19 pandemic due to mental health conditions, and his wife wanted this story of his edited and published, as a tribute to him.

Completed line edits for this 12,000 word short story. “Greedy as a Ghoul” has received strong reviews on Amazon commending it for its smooth writing and smart storytelling. It won the 2023 Firebird Book Awards for the Dark Fantasy and Paranormal categories.

Completed line edits for this 110,000 word fantasy novel. Malfus: Necromancer Unchained has received strong reviews on Amazon, complimenting it for its engaging narrative and phenomenal writing. It won 1st Place in the Firebird Book Awards for Dark Fantasy.

Completed line edits for this 23,500 word fantasy novella, reducing its overall word count to approximately 20,500, a reduction of 12.7%. My edits trimmed back some of the author’s flavorful word choices in favor of reader engagement and legibility.

Completed line edits for this 110,000 word fantasy novel. Aaron had already published Foreordained years prior, but wanted it edited for clarity and polish. My edits reduced its word count considerably, granting its story a stronger focus.

Completed line edits for this 115,000 word fantasy novel. Like the first novel in this trilogy, Aaron had already published Awakened, but wanted it upgraded. My edits smoothed out its prose, narration, and viewpoint characters, allowing it to tell its story more convincingly.

Completed line edits for this 29,000 word short story and poetry collection. These stories were already strong, but my line edits helped smooth out their writing to make Aaron’s tales leap off the page.

Completed line and developmental edits for this 93,000 word urban fantasy novel. I wrote approximately 32,000 words of chapter-by-chapter developmental critique and then performed line edits on the final draft, reducing its word count from 87,000 words to 80,000. In all, my edits shaved 13,000 words off——approximately 13% of the total——and strengthened the plot, improved the character arcs, and smoothed the wording to a considerable degree.

Spurred by the prompt “ghost towns.” Factor Four Magazine is an SFWA-approved publication which pays professional rates for flash fiction (<1000 words in length). Premise: what happens to uploaded human consciousness when its domain in the Singularity expires?
